Ten of Swords
03:05
|
|||
i need my vitamins and minerals
i wake up earlier and earlier
sky is blue, dark to light
no, i don't think I'll go out tonight
if i did, i'd waste my money
buy some food, or do my laundry
get my meds and walk around
see the angels of the later crowd
the pockets of my coat
checkered with dozens of holes
from digging my hands in too rough
i never could be tough enough
i think my spirit will be mean!
not in anger, just fatigue
if you see her at the window, in the hallway, pass through walls
leave a chair for her to rest her form on
if i can make it through the winter, i'll
make it to spring, make it to summer
dig my heels in come the autumn
the cards all warned me of rock bottom

Bat House
03:15
|
|||
pallid bats don't leave the roost til the desert's dark and cool, and i didn't leave my room til the sun set on the roof when i saw the fireworks celebrate something covert. sky of pastel pink and blue, favorite pallet to use
and under this setting sun
i haven't see anyone
do they still exist?
looking up to see the moon, i saw several freed balloons. you'd've thought it was the rapture--bodies float to the great hereafter. fireworks, they snapped me back. neighborhoods under attack. should this be my final night, let me put my bat house high
and under this setting sun
i haven't seen anyone
do they still exist?
a pale moon is rising now
but nobody's coming out
don't think they exist
looking up to see the moon in it's pointed solitude, thinking how i feel it too. is this feeling absolute?

Gumline (Livia Soprano)
02:42
|
|||
so
i think i have to let it go
i think i have to bury the body and honor the ghost
cold
i keep one fire stoked at home
when it eats through the tinder, i sit and i miss the glow
i left my heart in God-Why-Bother
it was hardened, and green in color
i left it out to flower
to make tea from roots and petals
so
it's taken years, but now i know
when he spoke of different loves, he wasn't asking me to go
you know
i did best and took the blow
caught it next to my stomach, and let it stay and let it grow
i gave my love to Nevermind
smiled broad, and smiled wide
if you could see me now, i'm fine
red mouth and a weak gumline
i left my heart in God-Why-Bother
it was hardened, and green in color
i left it out to flower
to make tea from roots and petals
